Christmas at the Mission

Step back in time to celebrate the holidays at Sonoma’s historic Mission San  Francisco Solano. The annual Christmas program at the Sonoma Mission takes place four times on Saturday Dec. 13, at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m., with the Sonoma Valley High School Madrigal Choir leading carols for this year’s program. Additional activities will include soldier demonstrations and a Victorian craft station inside the Sonoma Barracks, music by the Pickle Creek Jug Band at the Toscano Hotel, and refreshments at the Barracks as well. The Sonoma League for Historic Preservation will host a free holiday open house for the public from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at two historic properties: the General Joseph Hooker House in El Paseo de Sonoma, just off the Plaza, and the Maysonnave House, located at 291 First Street East. Music and refreshments will be available at each location.

Tickets are required for the Mission events and go on sale November 22, for $2.50, at the Sonoma Mission, 114 East Spain Street.

The events are presented by California State Parks in conjunction with the Sonoma/Petaluma State Historic Parks Association.
